Iana Eliane De Rop (°2000, BE) is a visual artist based in Brussels. Her research-based practice moves between sculpture, installation and spatial intervention. She often starts from a specific place, object or material, looking at its history, function and use.
De Rop works with existing structures and everyday objects, changing or reusing them to create new situations. Her work explores how objects and spaces influence the way we move, look and interact with our surroundings. She is interested in the traces that places and materials carry, and in how these can change when their context or function shifts.
Her practice is grounded in an interest in space, material and use, often finding new possibilities in things that are already there.
